Mobile-first priority for the Google index
Google announces change its
algorithm to analyze the content of websites to assign their positioning.
From now on, the American giant has
decided to favor the content of "mobile" pages compared to
"Desktop" pages: The mobile-first.
The mobile first
First of all, we must realize the
place that mobile has taken as a place in our lives. France now has more than
34 million internet users via mobile or mobile users in June 2016 (quarterly
barometer of Mobile Marketing Association France). Worldwide, We Are Social has
3.79 billion.
Google has seen, each year, the
significant increase in these figures and the improvement of the network (3G,
4G) in developed or developing countries, especially since the explosion of the
number of screens of smartphones have pushed web professionals developed web
pages specifically for mobile a trend called "Mobile-first". This
strategy is to think mobile first when creating a website.
The search engine has therefore set
up a single index favoring the mobile version of the page if the case arises.
Mobile-first: The SEO in all this?
If your website is Responsive
Design , adaptive or dynamic with similar content on smartphone and computer,
then this change will not be a problem.
On the other hand, if your website
is desktop-only and you are developing a mobile version, finalize it well
before putting it online or you will be penalized by Google. In the case where
you have a computer version and another mobile, then many parameters have to be
checked like the contents, the URLs, the user-agents or the structured data.
